Transarterial embolisation is a state-of-the-art application of interventional radiology for treating bleeding and peripheral angiodysplasias; it is performed without surgery, under digital angiography guidance.   

The goal of embolisation is to embolise (occlude) the bleeding vessel. Under the guidance of angiography, the interventional radiology experts transarterially finds the bleeding artery branches or branch and using catheters and microcatheters they administer microspheres or place points to block the vessel branch(es)and stop the bleeding.  A significant prerequisite condition for the success of this procedure is the experience of the interventional radiology expert and the specialisation of the Medical Centre.
